The new Kallang National Stadium undergoing construction in metropolitan Singapore. Due to open in 2014 for the Singapore Southeast Asian Games, it will have a capacity of 55,000 spectators. It is also set to host some of the matches for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. The site is situated at the old National Stadium, which was closed in 2007 and demolished in 2010. When fully completed, the stadium will be a part of the Singapore Sports Hub, which consist of the Singapore Indoor Stadium, an Aquatic Centre, as well as a Multi-Purpose Indoor Arena. It will be the new home of Singapore national football team. It also features a retractable roof.
